I can bench the bar + 35lbs=80lbs! Cool.
Whew. Damn I needed a good workout. I was not surprised that my lifting strength has decreased a little since it has been about 2 weeks; but I was surprised that my cardiovascular fitness is pretty good! Must be the spinning and karate! I hopped on the treadmill expecting to be huffing and puffing but jogged 16 out of 20 minutes at 3.0-3.3 pace at 2.0 incline. It felt great. My mood is definitely improved.
Stepmill: 30 minutes
Weight lifting:
Bench Press 20 lbs x 4 sets; 30 lbs x 1 set
Tri pulldown 40 lbs x 1 set; 50 lbs x 3 sets
Biceps curl: 30 lbs x 1 set; 40 lbs x 3 sets
Skull Crushers 30 lbs x 1 set; 40 lbs x 3 sets
Closed Grip Bench Press 30 lbs x 1 set; 40 lbsx x 3 sets

Damn it felt good to work up a sweat today. I have truly missed working out. Wow. I guess I really am changing and becoming an athlete again. It’s like I’m craving being in shape now!
Step Mill Machine: 40 mins
Karate Class: 60 mins
I was feeling run down most of the week, but I decided to push myself this morning. My neck still hurts too, but I just can’t take being out of the gym and not being active anymore. The step mill felt great and karate was a lot of fun.
I also realized that my main gym has spinning classes 7 days a week! The class I’m taking now is at Dartmouth undergrad M, W, F and I’d love to do some spinning on the weekends! Yay!
I gave myself 2 stars today and I’m planning to hit the spin class and lift tomorrow.
Food log:

1230pm: Bowl of Weight Watchers Oatmeal
I read an article yesterday that also confirmed what I was feeling, gotta cut those sodas out. I haven’t had much in the last few months but the last week I’ve been sucking them down. Even the diet ones aren’t good for you! Back to the H2O!

Have been strangely not hungry last two days. Has anyone ever had this happen? I’m starting to get a little worried. I have eaten though. And actually I weighed in yesterday at weight watchers and I’m down 2 lbs, which I knew before I stepped on the scale and I was strangely disappointed! I feel like I’ve been working out hard and “trying” to watch what I’m eating and two pounds!! But, slow and steady wins the race. So I had some pizza yesterday and I had some mozzarela stix today! OY VEY!
So I’m not eating alot, but I’m not eating healthy while I have this dip in appetite. Being the crazy person I am I’m like: “Lord please don’t let me have cancer or something like that!” How much of a doofus am I? Yeah, I don’t know either.
I left work today at 6:30, and I had to MAKE myself leave work, so I could get to Karate at 730, only to realize when I looked at the schedule when I got home that Karate is during the day on Wednesdays! Ooops! So I went to the gym instead. I feel a little “off” but not ill and feel a little sluggish. But that could be 1) lack of veggies last two days-ish, 2) pizza/mozzarella stix 3) It was 7:30pm (8:40pm now) and 4) I’ve been awake since 5:30-6:00am and I went to sleep after midnight and woke up at like 4:30 am or something crazy like that. So I’m going to chalk it up 5) to all those + PMS (?)
Tuesday I didn’t work out either. I don’t know why or what I was doing. Working and then just zonked out I guess. I still haven’t attempted that 2 mile run from the house down to the RTE 120 light.
Anyway, I’m proud of myself for going this a.m., this p.m. and for putting ME first.

Even though I worked out (cardio only) last night. I somehow found myself at the gym saturday morning at 8:30 am to meet up w/ a colleague. I got her a guest pass to my gym and tomorrow we’re going to hers.
Step Mill: 25 mins
Arms Circuit: Lat Pulldowns, Tri-pushdowns, Bench Press, Biceps curls, upright row to overhead lift x 3 sets.
I completed all BP sets w/ the 20lb weight so I’m getting stronger!
I need to up my cardio but I feel kind of fatigued, I also need to hit my abs and do some pushups. But! I got my star today. And I have a 4pm massage!
I was busy as hell at work today. Despite my attempts to get out of work at 4 to hit the gym, I didn’t get to leave until 5:30pm! I had 7pm dinner plans so it was either call and be late or skip the gym.
The OLD me would have skipped the gym. The NEW me was like “I’m going to be late.” I didn’t do anything hard core.
Step Mill Machine (I am LOVING this thing): 35 minutes
Thursday I didn’t make it to the gym do to another cultural activity and I could feel how agitated I was and I felt like I had pent up energy, wild. I contemplated going out for a run. There’s a route I want to try. But I’m still feeling intimidated and I stayed inside and ate meatless sausage and popcorn. Next time I’m going out for that run!
I did indeed make it to the gym tonite. I had a really productive meeting with my counselor and it brought up some stuff around emotional eating that I need to process some more. It felt great to get a good, hard workout in.

Lats (40, 50, 60), Bench Press (20 lbs), Biceps Curls (30 lbs/40 lbs), Skull Crushers (30 lbs/40 lbs), Incline Bench Press (bar)
Elliptical Machine: 30 mins
I only got through the last 18 mins of the elliptical thanks to Mariah Carey’s mega long, 10+ minute remixes!
I do indeed like breaking the workouts up w/ weightlifting in between cardio sessions.
Goal: Water, Hit the gym tomorrow (treadmill/abs + push ups) and eat clean.
Ate a huge breakfast today, but I’ve got company in town and we’re just chillin’. I had mostly protein. Eggs w/ cheese and onion, ham and bacon, one slice of wheat toast. And coffee, lots and lots of sweet coffee!
Then we walked about 2 miles around the campus sightseeing. Then more wandering out and about wherein I ate a nice size bag of kettle korn. yummy!
We did hit the gym briefly and I did 30 minutes on the Step Mill, have you tried this thing? It’s a BEAST, but I really like it. It simulates walking up steps and you can really blast some calories and work up a sweat. I’m glad my friend was game for working out. Tomorrow I’m going to hit the gym and hopefully drag her too. And if the sun is out, maybe play some golf!
Tomorrow I will eat clean and tonite I should get a good night’s sleep which definitely makes a difference!
